A handwoven sisal tote bag in striking pink and green with individual pips hand embroidered on its side, TIKITI MAJI will bring a splash of playful style to shopping trips, beach days, and festival weekends. With its extendable leather shoulder straps in tan, you can wear yours high or low under the arm, or in the crook of your arm if preferred.
We have only produced a very small number of these watermelon tote bags, woven by a small Kenyan weaving group we have partnered with for over six years. Led by a most charismatic chairlady, these ladies work with exceptional care and precision, and have previously worked with us on large commissions from ethical brand LUSH, and a collaboration with Jigsaw in 2016. Each pip has been meticulously hand embroidered by a gifted artist living and working in Nairobi with whom we have collaborated for several years. All leatherwork is carefully produced and stitched by a team of dedicated leatherworkers we also have a strong and close relationship with.
TIKITI MAJI is a very special woven accessory we have produced in collaboration with British accessories designer Hannah Harrison.
